6 week report

For two weeks, Dad/Grandpa has been diligently working on the 1,500 piece puzzle Suzanne and Ron gave him. We need Liane and Laura, both expert puzzle people, to visit!!! Cynthia has been the best helper so far, Jim and I have each added two pieces. The whole dining room table with two leaves is covered with puzzle pieces. The frame is not even complete yet!!

Recuperation is going very well. He was discharged from Occupational therapy this week. Next week he is scheduled for a physical therapy evaluation and we both think that will be discontinued too. Last week's CT scan was very good. Next scan in 3 months. The thing that concerns him the most is not driving for 6 months to a year. Speech is improving daily. I have been especially interested in what speech therapy includes: swallowing, eating, reading, comprehension, writing, arithmetic plus speaking.

One thing I've learned is bumps to the head cannot be taken lightly. Seeing those Olympians twirl around in the air, even wearing a helmet, scared me now that I know more about head injury. Dad/Grandpa's blood thinner medicine made him more at risk for a brain bleed.

We are very thankful for all the progress. Love, Mother/Grandma
